Do you have a spare room or two?

We are looking for Hosts for foreign students who will be coming to Stratford upon Avon for cultural visits.

Most of these visits last for three to four days. Quite often the students arrive in Stratford on a Monday evening, ready for four days of visits to places of cultural interest, such as Warwick Castle and the Shakespeare houses. They then depart on the Friday morning.

What’s involved in hosting?

We are looking for Hosts who will enjoy having students from the continent to live with them as a family member for three or four nights. After they have had a continental breakfast with you they need to be delivered to the Stratford Coach Park, usually by about 8.30am each morning with a packed lunch. There is a member of the team in the Coach park from 8.00 am onwards if you need to drop your students early.  You are asked to collect them from the Coach Park at a pre-determined time each evening (usually between 6.30 and 7.00pm) and then give them a simple supper.  They will be tired after their busy days so do not be worried if they are not very communicative.   They usually like to speak English over supper and are then often happy to watch a video or have an early night.

Hosts who have taken in foreign students in the past have found it an enriching experience as well as it providing some extra family income.

Please do browse the website to find out more about hosting a foreign student and I shall be delighted to talk to you on the phone, answer email questions, and when you are ready call by for a chat with you in your home. You can email me through the contact tab at the top of the page and the phone numbers are also listed on that page.
